WOW that looks good. Reverse GIS turned this up.

I've always been partial to the Harley-Davidson WLA myself. Because function over form.

Looks like he is wearing a ghostbusters proton pack.

I'm not a motorcycle driver and even I want that.

Wait, now I'm greyed out? WTF?

I got it from Icon's fb page. She is so beautiful.

I was wondering what happened. Your comment ghosted out for a moment.

Basis for the original flat track racers.

I'm getting a strong Mad Max vibe from this picture. I love that bike.

It's a shame you'd get pulled over if you kept a Thompson in it as intended...

Great for a few minutes, but hard tail is for the young. My poor old bones ache just remembering those days.

Really? I don't know much about bikes, I just know I want an HD WLA or something styled to look like it.

There are certain states over here which allow open carry so that would depend on where you are.

That is so damn cool.

Yeah, they chopped them and drove them on the dirt flat tracks. Then Harley got involved and started making 45's (750cc) just for racing and then in the mid 50's they went to the 55 OHV (900cc) and then to the XR 750 flat track racer. Still raced. It is a version of the Sportster, except designed strictly for racing. Saw one on Bring a Trailer about a year ago, brand new. Asking over $50k as I recall.

Hmmm, doesn't quite have the same shape as the XLA, but it looks nice still!
![]() 08/12/2013 at 21:10 |

Yeah, it is a modern version for racing. Original WLA's are getting rare.

Yeah I can imagine, but aren't there any newer (and more numerous) similar-looking bikes?

There's a ton of Servi-Cars out there (3 wheelers) but you would probably have to source your 2 wheel parts separately. Frame and some other parts can be bought separately, it can be done as the parts are out there. Just few original bikes available whole.
